Linking to Library Resources in Blackboard

This faculty-oriented guide provides directions on how to link to library online resources in your Blackboard course. It includes detailed directions on how to create persistent links to content in the library's article databases.

Persistent Linking Instructions for the Oxford English Dictionary database

Follow these steps to create persistent links to definitions in the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) database:

  1. Open the Oxford English Dictionary from the Library Databases page.
  2. Search for a word.  View the full entry for the word.
  3. Copy the URL in the browser toolbar.
  4. Open a text editor and paste the OED URL. 
  5. Add the remote access prefix (http://blume.stmarytx.edu:2048/login?url=) before the OED URL.
  6. Paste the complete URL in your Blackboard course, email message, online syllabus, etc.
