Linking to Library Resources in Blackboard

This faculty-oriented guide provides directions on how to link to library online resources in your Blackboard course. It includes detailed directions on how to create persistent links to content in the library's article databases.

Persistent Linking Instructions for Kanopy

Follow these steps to create persistent links to films or film segments in Films on Demand:

  1. Open Kanopy from the Library Databases page.
  2. Find a film title or a film segment.
  3. Click on a film title or the film segment.
  4. Copy the URL in the Title URL or Segment URL below the video box.
  5. Open a text editor and paste the database URL. Add the remote access prefix (http://blume.stmarytx.edu:2048/login?url=) before the database URL.
  6. Paste the complete URL in your Blackboard course, email message, online syllabus, etc.

Example Persistent Link:  http://blume.stmarytx.edu:2048/login?url=http://stmarytx.kanopystreaming.com/video/speaking-tongue-history-language-episode-3-mother-tongues
