The Learning Commons is a group study area. Please use your “indoor voice” to avoid disturbing other groups and use headphones when listening to music or other audio programs on computers.
A portion of the 2nd floor is designated as a Quiet Zone; please minimize conversations and take cell phone calls away from this area. Because the Circulation Desk and the computer workstations are interactive areas, a moderate level of noise should be expected. The art gallery is a gathering place for art openings and other events, and a moderate level of noise should be expected during these events.
The 3rd floor is the designated silent study area. Please take conversations and cell phone calls outside. Library users who wish to work in groups should use the Learning Commons. The Rattler Success Center (RSC) offers advising, tutoring, and hosts classes and other learning sessions in the Multimedia Instructional Center (MIC). A moderate level of noise should be expected in the RSC and in the MIC.
Cell phone may be used in the 1st Floor Learning Commons or on the Blume Library porches. Please be considerate of others when using cell phones. Turn phones to mute or vibrate when not in use.
Everyone in the library should be considerate of others around them. Please contact a library staff member if you have concerns about noise. Library staff will ask library users to leave the building if they do not comply with the Noise Policy.
