Find Books
These databases are the primary sources to find books, both at the Blume Library and from other libraries.
Go to the tab Borrow from Other Libraries to request interlibrary loans (ILL), find out how to get a TexShare card, or see a list of San Antonio area libraries. I encourage you to get a San Antonio Public Library card and a BiblioTech card if you live in Bexar County. You can get cards if you live in the StMU dorms even if your family lives in another town.
Blume Library

Discover is the Blume Library's most comprehensive source for books, both in print and as eBooks. Use the Monographs limit to focus your search on books.
- Library CatalogThe Library Catalog includes Blume Library's books and some eBooks. Some people find it easier to locate books with the Library Catalog versus Discover. Use Discover to limit to eBooks.
Worldcat
- WorldCat Public This link opens in a new windowPublic version of the shared libraries catalog. Use to find books on a topic and see which libraries own which books.
- WorldCat FirstSearch This link opens in a new windowAnother version of Worldcat, available to the Blume Library as a subscription database. This version is more challenging to search but offers precise facets to limit the focus of a search.
Other Sources
- Google Books This link opens in a new windowGoogle Books is a service from Google Inc. that searches the full text of books and magazines that Google has scanned, converted to text using optical character recognition, and stored in its digital database.
Most books are not available in full text. "Get the Book" links to WorldCat to see the libraries that own the book. Request books that our libraries don't own using Interlibrary Loans using forms found here: https://lib.stmarytx.edu/ILL.
Subject Headings for PH
I recommend searching Discover, the Library Catalog, or Worldcat with these terms. Some options: 1) You can combine these terms to search by keyword, or 2) or search the terms as a Subject.
