View the chart that compares scholarly journals with popular and trade publications or magazines. Many of the characteristics of scholarly journals also apply to academic books.
To find articles that may be more current than an article you have found, go to Google Scholar and enter the author or title of the article. If the article of interest appears, or a related article of interest, under the article, click on Cited By. Google Scholar results will show the articles and books that have cited a work since it was published. See the guide, Google for Scholars for more tips.
