Welcome IGS 1301 students

On Thursday, August 31, 2023, will focus on the following topics.

 

  1. IGS 1301 page - discuss other things you can find here
  2. Zotero - Where to Download and Install
  3. Discover - Learn how to identify relevant and timely journal articles, magazines and newspapers, books and eBooks; and practice.
  4. Nexis Uni - discuss the current newspaper articles found in this database and practice.
  5. Test Remote Access for off-campus access to library subscription databases

 

You will understand and be able to use the Zotero Citation Software package. 

 

Install and register Zotero. The 1-page document linked here will walk you through the steps to install Zotero, the browser plugin, register for a username and password, and sync your program with this information. You need to complete these steps before the workshop.

Test Remote Access

We will test your remote access to ensure that you are able to login to access databases, eBooks, and other library subscription materials. 

Username: your Rattler ID number without the S000. Start with the first non-zero digit. EX: 55555

Password: your last name


If necessary, email us if you have problems with your remote access.

Send your name, ID number, and a message telling us what problem you are having.  We will endeavor to fix the problem.
