This guide provides links to government and quasi-governmental agencies in San Antonio and the surrounding area, including the Hill Country.

Several local libraries, including the Blume Library and Sarita Kenedy East Law Library, are depositories for U.S. and Texas government information. Here is a listing of these depository libraries.
Historical information
The San Antonio City Clerk's office provides a useful listing of past and present city officials, as well as other historical information and documents:

Texas Local Governments

Collection of links to regional councils of government (COGs) and resources related to regional issues - Texas.gov: Transparencylinks to information about Texas city and county governments, particularly regarding budgets, taxes, etc.

This can be the most difficult data to find, but this portal from CINow (Community Information Now) makes it much easier: 
- NowDatalinks to information in several broad subject areas, from a variety of sources including the state and federal governments, plus local non-profits and other private sources
Local environmental data is relatively easy to find with these tools from the Environmental Protection Agency:
- ECHO (Enforcement & Compliance History Online)EPA database to find "facilities in your community to assess their compliance with environmental regulations." Search by city, state, or zip code. Topics include Water, Air, Hazardous Waste.
- Environmental Information by Locationcompanion tool with Envirofacts
Traffic Conditions

under "Projects" find information about road construction - TransguideLocal traffic conditions in real time

The National Climatic Data Center offers several datasets covering current and historical weather, and they have tools that can zero in on particular local locations. Their major portals are:
- Climate Data Online (NOAA)tools for searching and mapping weather information from the global down to local areas. Includes links to databases about drought, climate models, satellite data, etc.
