American Indian Film Gallery
Vintage motion pictures offering rich perspectives on the American Indian experience. An online collection of more than 450 historic films by and about Native peoples of the Americas, compiled and digitized by historian J. Fred MacDonald over many years.
Library of Congress Digital Collections: Search
"A gateway to the Library of Congress’s vast resources of digitized American historical materials." This portal includes the content from the old American Memory site and additional digital sources. LOC.
American Masters
Award-winning biography series, celebrating American arts and culture.
Annenberg Learner
Designed to help K-12 teachers improve their skills and expertise, provides access to many of the educational video programs developed with grant money as telecourses, including series on algebra, art, chemistry, economics, film, history, poetry, and foreign languages, among others.
Archive of American Television
Provides access to hundreds of in-depth video interviews with TV's greatest legends and pioneers.

MIT Video
Includes 150 channels and more than 12,000 videos. Also links to MIT OpenCourseWare.
Prelinger Archive
Free online repository of over 60,000 "ephemeral" (advertising, educational, industrial, and amateur) films in the public domain.
PBS Video
Access to selected programs from selected PBS series (such as Nature, American Experience, Nova, and Frontline, among others.) Users can browse by Programs, Topics, or Collections. Individual programs are subdivided into smaller segments.

TeacherTube
Launched in 2007. Provides an online community for sharing instructional videos that are more educationally focused. Used by K-12 faculty.
TEDTalks
TED started in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from Technology, Entertainment, and Design. It has become a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. TEDTalks began in 2006. Influential people from many walks of life speak on stage. Includes interactive transcripts and captioning in 35 languages.
United States Government Films
United States government films, including footage of Congressional proceedings, training films, etc. Includes collections: Fedflix, Metavid, and Report to the Congress: Congressional Hearings Online. Searchable via the Internet Archive.
Vimeo
Video-sharing website founded in 2004 in which users can upload, share and view videos. Browsable by Creative Commons license type. Allows users to upload longer videos than on YouTube. It was the first video sharing site to support high-definition video.
YouTube
Founded in 2005, exceeds more than 2 billion viewers per day.
