Map Catalog
This catalog gives the precise Map Case folder numbers for the Library's collection of large maps. The Map Case is located on the west wall of the Library's 2nd floor. (See photo on the right.)
These maps may be checked out for use in presentations or for other purposes.
All of the maps, regardless of their thematic focus, are arranged by the area of the world that they cover.
- AfricaListing of large maps of Africa in the Library. Includes maps of individual countries and multi-country regions.
- AsiaListing of large maps of Asia in the Library. Includes maps of individual countries and multi-country regions.
- Antarctica, Australia/New ZealandListing of large maps of these regions in the Library.
- EuropeListing of large maps of Europe in the Library. Includes maps of individual countries and multi-country regions.
- Latin AmericaListing of large maps of Latin America in the Library. Includes maps of individual countries and multi-country regions. Areas covered: Mexico, Central American, the Caribbean, and South America.
- Local AreaListing of large maps of San Antonio, Bexar County and the surrounding areas.
- North AmericaListing of large maps of North America in the Library. Includes maps of Canada and the U.S., regions within these countries, and multi-country regions.
- Oceans and IslandsListing of large maps of the ocean floor and islands which are far from a continent and not politically associated with a mainland country. Look for other islands under the continent they are close to or the country with which they are politically associated
- Intercontinental RegionsListing of large maps covering more than one, or parts of more than one, continent.
- WorldListing of large maps of the world as a whole, including some thematic maps.
- Non-Terrestrial AreasListings of large maps of stars and planets.
