The Louis J. Blume Library Special Collections and University Archives collects, organizes, preserves, and makes accessible materials of enduring value that support the mission of St. Mary's University and document the history of the University.
Special Collections and University Archives is located on the 3rd floor of Blume Library and is open by appointment only. Members of the St. Mary's University community and external researchers are welcome to request access to our collections. With the exception of born-digital or digitized material, all Special Collections and University Archives material is non-circulating and can only be viewed in the Special Collections Reading Room. Please contact archives@stmarytx.edu to begin your research or schedule an appointment.
Pencils, loose leaf paper, laptops, tablets, and phones may be used to take notes or photographs in the Special Collections Reading Room. Any images captured are for personal research purposes only. Photocopies and high-quality digital scans may be requested for unbound and non-fragile materials only. Digitization and copy requests will be approved at the archivist's discretion. Researchers must seek permission before publishing, posting, or otherwise broadcasting copies of any materials in our collections. For more information, please review our Reproduction Policy.
